The author of Awn al-Ma'bud stated that the meaning of "la takilni" (لا تكلني) is "do not leave me," and "tarfat 'ayn" (طرفة عين) means a moment or a glance of an eye. The author of Lisan al-ʿArab mentioned that "wakaltu amri ila fulan" (وكلت أمري إلى فلان) means "I entrusted my matter to so-and-so," and that a man's agent (wakil) is so named because his principal (muwakkil) entrusted him with carrying out his affairs. In Mukhtar al-Sihah, "tarfah" (طرفة) refers to a single instance of a glance.
