Is it permissible to dishonor papers or books that contain the word "god" (إله) when referring to false deities, by placing things on top of them, given that they contradict Islamic law?

The phrases mentioned are not among those ﷺ that are legally glorified, such as the Quran and the names of Allah. However, some scholars believe it is obligatory to respect them and prevent their desecration due to the sanctity of letters absolutely, even if what is written is falsehood, like magic. It is stated in Al-Sharh Al-Kabeer and Hashiyat Al-Dusuqi that it is prohibited to clean oneself with anything written due to the sanctity of the letters. Placing something on top of what must be respected is not considered desecration of it.
