So I swear by the الخُنَّس (planets or stars that hide), الجَوَارِ (that run and orbit), الكُنَّسِ (that sweep and disappear in their hiding places), what is meant by them?

Most scholars interpreted "al-Khunnas and al-Kunnas" as the stars that appear at night and disappear during the day, and this is the saying of Ali ibn Abi Talib. Some interpreted them as wild cows that return late to their shelters, and this is the saying of Ibn Abbas and Ibn Mas'ud. Ibn al-Jawzi mentioned, citing al-Mawardi, that what is meant by them are the angels.
