How can one get rid of masturbation and the fear of its effect on commitment to prayer and study, especially with the whispers of Satan, knowing that it began two years ago and is practiced despite repeated attempts at repentance?

To get rid of a reprehensible act, be mindful that Allah sees you and knows all your deeds, so you may feel ashamed before Him. Reflect upon the Names and Attributes of Allah, and that He is severe in punishment.

Ponder death and what comes after it, and that you will be held accountable for everything, so you may detest being exposed on the Day of Judgment.

Fast frequently to curb the intensity of desires, and strive diligently in supplication for steadfastness in repentance. Occupy yourself with beneficial things, avoid being alone with yourself, and stay away from everything that incites desires.

Keep company with good people, and frequently remember Allah and recite the Qur'an. Beware of abandoning prayer, for it is one of the greatest destructive sins.
