A woman is not permitted to engage in volunteer work that involves mixing with men, because the danger of temptation (fitna) is severe, and its harm is great, and nothing equals safety. If she does not find an opportunity for volunteer work free from mixing with men, then she should volunteer in another activity far from men, while preserving the characteristic of modesty.
