Is it permissible to give sadaqah or zakat to an Azhari Ash'ari student, and is the questioner sinful for changing his intention in seeking knowledge from inviting to Islam to guiding himself and his family?

Giving charity to a student of knowledge who studies the Ash'ari creed is permissible, along with advising him and clarifying the errors of the Ash'ari creed in matters of fundamental principles and their deviation from the creed of the Salaf, hoping that he will reconsider and embrace the truth. The questioner should seek knowledge for himself, knowing what brings him closer to Allah and what distances him from Allah. This includes inviting to Allah, enjoining good, and forbidding evil, which are among the most beneficial actions. There is no sin in changing one's intention for seeking knowledge to include the intention of inviting to Allah.
