What is the ruling on a husband having intercourse with his wife if she forgot to shorten her hair after 'Umrah, then remembered and shortened it?

The majority of scholars hold that intercourse after the umrah's sa'y (ritual circumambulation between Safa and Marwa) and before shaving or clipping the hair does not invalidate it. However, the one who performs this act, if mindful and aware of the ruling, must offer a compensatory sacrifice (dam).
