The answer

Maintaining prayer on time and in congregation is essential. It is permissible to sleep before Asr prayer if you are determined to perform the prayer on time and with the congregation. A reliable alarm or a request for a reminder should be used.

This is supported by the Prophet's (peace be upon him) and his companions' sleep before Fajr prayer during their journey, with Bilal being instructed to wake them. If the congregational prayer at the mosque is missed, it is prescribed to pray it in congregation with one's family at home.

It is also prescribed to go to the mosque and perform the prayer there, even if you miss the congregation. You will still receive the reward of one who prayed in congregation, as stated in the hadith: "Whoever performs ablution well, then goes [to the mosque] and finds that the people have already prayed, Allah Almighty will give him a reward similar to that of one who prayed it and attended it, without diminishing anything from their rewards." This reward is for those whose delay was not due to negligence.
