Pork is considered impure (najis), and it is not permissible to make a jawbone (prosthesis) from it or from the bone of cattle that have not been slaughtered according to Islamic law. It must be removed if no harm is feared. There are permissible and better alternatives, such as taking bone from another human (allograft) or from the person themselves (autograft). This is permissible according to Islamic law, in accordance with specific regulations for organ transplantation, provided that organs are not sold.
