I have an expiation. Is it permissible to give it to the household driver?

It is permissible to give a poor Muslim driver the share of one indigent person from expiation (kaffarah), but it is not sufficient to give him the entire expiation if there are other indigent people, according to the majority of scholars. Some scholars hold the view that it is permissible to give the expiation to a single indigent person or to a household in dire need, citing the hadith of the man who had intercourse during Ramadan. Others believe it is permissible to give it to a single indigent person over multiple days. The preponderant opinion is that the expiation must be given to ten indigent persons, as stated in the verse.
