Will a husband go to Hell if he does not fulfill his wife's rights, treats her poorly, and oppresses her, just as a wife goes to Hell if she does not fulfill her husband's rights and treats him poorly?

A wife's obedience to her husband is a path to entering Paradise, and disobedience to him is a path to punishment. Similarly, a husband is subject to punishment if he neglects his marital duties or wrongs his wife. Both the wife and the husband are subject to punishment if they fall short in fulfilling their duties. Allah Almighty has commanded the husband to treat his wife kindly and has made the marriage contract a "solemn covenant," alerting the husband to the necessity of upholding his wife's rights. If a husband breaches his duties, he is threatened with the torment of Hell, for Allah is the adversary of every wrongdoer on the Day of Resurrection.
