Is it permissible to avoid inviting a relative (the grandfather's wife) known for envy and malice, and rumored to practice sorcery, to a wedding ceremony, fearing her harm, taking into consideration that she may represent the bedridden grandfather?

There is no harm in concealing the aforementioned matter from the woman, out of fear of her evil eye, envy, or harm. The basis for this is what Jacob (peace be upon him) said to his sons: "Relate not your vision to your brothers" and "Do not enter by one gate, but enter by different gates," out of fear of the evil eye. This is supported by the Hadith: "Seek help in achieving your needs through concealment, for every possessor of a blessing is envied." It is also recommended to conceal the attractive qualities of one for whom the evil eye is feared, with what would repel it. Jurists have stipulated the permissibility of detaining one who inflicts the evil eye and preventing him from mingling with people if his harm is confirmed.
