How can a person protect themselves from the evil eye, especially if they unintentionally envy themselves, and what should they do if they have a good marriage prospect and fear the evil eye if they disclose the news, and should they keep their marriage news a secret for three nights, following the example of the Prophet Zechariah (peace be upon him), so as not to be afflicted by envy?

A Muslim should speak little except when there is benefit in it, and be wary of the evil eye, for it is real and can affect humans and camels. Protection from it can be found by referring to the mentioned fatwas. One should not publicize projects and private matters to people unless necessary, due to the hadith: "Seek help in achieving your needs through secrecy, for every possessor of a blessing is envied." If the project succeeds, it can be announced, while taking precautions. As for marriage, it should be announced and publicized, and there is no need to keep it secret for three nights; the duration depends on the need and circumstances.
