Is this degree of fear of envy natural, and should one stop publishing personal videos and photos to avoid being afflicted by it, or is it sufficient to protect oneself with the Mu'awwidhat (Surahs of refuge) and certainty in God's protection? And what is the correct action in such a situation?

Concealing certain blessings out of fear of envy (hasad (definition)) or the evil eye (ayn) is a permissible means of taking precautions, which does not contradict reliance on Allah, especially if there is no benefit in displaying them. It is not permissible to display blessings for the purpose of showing off, boasting, or provoking the deprived, as this may lead to the disappearance of the blessing. However, if a person does not perceive reasons to fear envy or the evil eye, and their intention is not to boast, then concealment is not appropriate, especially if there is a benefit in displaying the blessing. One must be cautious not to exaggerate in fearing envy, as this may hinder a Muslim's progress and disrupt their life. Whoever adheres to the Prophetic supplications (adhkar), the protective surahs (Mu'awwidhat), and relies on Allah, will be safe by Allah's permission. And he must obey his parents by not publishing pictures if they forbid him, even if there is a benefit in publishing them.
