The hair on the cheeks is part of the beard that must be let grow and is forbidden to shave, based on Ibn Manzur's statement: "Al-Lihya (the beard) is a name that encompasses the hair that grows on the cheeks and the chin," and Al-Saffarini Al-Hanbali's statement: "Al-Liha (beards) are the hair of the cheeks and the chin." Some scholars permit trimming the stray and unsightly hairs of the beard and cheeks. However, the hair on the cheekbones does not fall within the definition of the beard, and there is no harm in removing it.
