Is treatment with Ruqyah Shariah sufficient as an alternative to taking medication for obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and is OCD a type of demonic possession (mass)?
Legal ruqyah is one of the best treatments for obsessive-compulsive disorder if it is performed by a righteous believer and the servant perseveres in it.
One of the greatest treatments is also for a person to completely turn away from the obsession and occupy their mind and heart with what benefits, such as acquiring beneficial knowledge, engaging in productive work, social service, or charitable activities, in addition to associating with good people and avoiding bad ones.
Obsession is from satanic whispers, and Allah Almighty’s saying confirms this: "Say, 'I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind, the Sovereign of mankind, the God of mankind, from the evil of the sneaking whisperer, who whispers in the chests of mankind, from among the jinn and mankind.'"
