How can Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) be continuously treated from the perspective of religion and faith, and what is the nature of the paper the sheikh gave to the questioner, which contains strange verses, letters, numbers, and symbols?
Persisting in acts of worship, seeking forgiveness, and asking Allah for healing, alongside patience and contentment with Allah's decree, for every disease has a cure, and great reward comes with great affliction. The cure for obsessive whispers (waswas) is to ignore them, fill one's time with learning and good deeds, and associate with righteous people. Waswas is a satanic thought that afflicts those who turn to Allah, and fighting it brings immense reward. It is recommended for one afflicted with waswas to say "La ilaha illa Allah" (There is no god but Allah), and constant remembrance (dhikr) drives away Satan. Avoiding charlatans, performing correct ruqyah (Islamic exorcism), supplicating, and humbly imploring Allah are the ways to healing.
