What is the ruling on a person who mentions very personal and private information about the questioner's life and family that they did not know before, all of which is correct and realistic? And is this considered to be from the jinn or the qareen (familiar spirit)? And how does that align with reciting the Quran in the car?

Claiming knowledge of the unseen and awareness of secrets is a form of prohibited soothsaying, for none knows the unseen save Allah. What soothsayers report may be from the inspiration of devils who eavesdrop from the heavens, or from the demonic companion of the questioner informing the soothsayer's companion. The appearance of miracles at the hands of soothsayers does not mean they are saints of Allah; rather, it may be from devils to mislead people. Playing the Qur'an in the car does not contradict this, as the soothsayer may have known his information beforehand, or because expelling devils with the Qur'an is specific to certain verses and chapters, such as Surat Al-Baqarah, and certain types of devils, and it may require recitation by tongue, presence of heart, good devotion, reliance on Allah, and seeking refuge from Satan.
