What is the ruling on consulting a person who claims to interpret past events without knowing the unseen, and who identifies the jinn's dwelling place and religion, and advises reading specific Quranic verses in a particular manner, and how can the consultant and the advised be convinced of the impermissibility of this in Islamic law?

Interpreting events falls into two categories: The first relies on tangible or religious matters, so there is no harm in interpreting them accordingly. An example of this is interpreting the defeat at Uhud as a result of disobedience. The second category relies on conjecture and imagination, or connection with deceitful jinn, even if they speak truth, it is based on a single word they overheard from the heavens, to which they add a hundred lies. Determining the location of a companion jinn (qareen) may occur through divine disclosure or via a jinn. It is advisable to monitor the person's condition, their adherence to Islam, and to inform the shaykhs (religious scholars) to clarify the reality of their situation.
