Is everything reported by the jinn that possesses a relative—such as events that have befallen him and his being afflicted with sorcery by a malicious person—considered truthful?

It is not permissible to accuse a Muslim of sorcery based on information provided by a jinn, because the report of a jinn cannot be relied upon, as a jinn is either an infidel or a transgressor. The Permanent Committee has prohibited seeking assistance from jinn to determine the type of affliction and its treatment, because it is polytheism (shirk), and also because jinn lie and are not trustworthy. The patient should perform ruqyah on himself using the established ruqyah from the Qur’an and Sunnah.
