Is it permissible to make unlawful things lawful, such as usury, impermissible tourism, and working for companies that commit unlawful acts, under the pretext that it is necessary for economic progress, providing job opportunities, and gaining experience, in light of the current reality?

The believer is committed to a divine methodology that governs his actions, and Allah has forbidden everything whose harm outweighs its benefit, such as usury, alcohol, gambling, and nudity. The worldly success of a disbeliever is not a measure of the correctness of a methodology; it might be a trial and a gradual enticement [istidraj]. The problem for believers is not in avoiding prohibitions, for the harm of prohibitions outweighs their benefit, and using their perceived benefit to permit them are satanic arguments. Usury and gambling are not paths to progress. The believer trusts in Allah's promises. Allah has legislated what is lawful, which suffices over what is unlawful, and has promised empowerment and progress to those who adhere to His command, and humiliation to those who disobey Him.
