The excess money that reached you by mistake is not permissible for you to take it unless its owner agrees. You are obligated to return it to him, or to give it as charity on his behalf if you despair of knowing its owner, with the guarantee of it to him if he appears. It is permissible to give it to the poor among your relatives or to debtors.
