How sound is the Hadith: "There is no prayer for the one whose garment hangs below his ankles"?

This Hadith is weak according to scholars. It states that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, commanded a man who was praying with his lower garment trailing to perform ablution, and said: "Indeed, Allah Almighty does not accept the prayer of a man whose lower garment trails." The prayer of one whose garment trails is valid according to the majority of scholars, though it is disliked. It becomes haram (forbidden) and disliked if the trailing is intended for pride and arrogance.
