How does a husband justly divide his nights between two wives who live in the same house but on different floors? What is the ruling on the husband or the second wife making excuses to unjustly attract the husband to spend the night with her? What are the conditions for spending the night if both wives share the same house and kitchen?

A husband must be just between his wives in terms of lodging, due to Allah Almighty's saying: ﴿But if you fear that you will not be just, then [marry only] one﴾, and due to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, saying: "Whoever has two wives and inclines to one of them, he will come on the Day of Resurrection with his side leaning." The obligatory justice is in spending the night. As for the daytime, the husband may visit a wife who is not due for her turn, for a need such as taking an item or checking on her, without prolonging the stay or engaging in intimacy. Therefore, a husband going to his other wife under the pretext of hot weather is forbidden, and he must fear Allah and be just between his wives. He must also prepare both rooms in a way that achieves justice and equality.
