Is masturbation permissible if one fears testicular swelling, as some Companions and Successors permitted, and is this opinion to be adopted?

We have previously mentioned that the issue of masturbation is a matter of scholarly disagreement, and the questioner can refer to the fatwas related to it. We would like to draw attention to two points: Firstly, the scholars who did not permit masturbation out of necessity did not negate the consideration of necessity, because fasting and nocturnal emission are alternatives that relieve sexual urge. Secondly, it is not respectful to object to the sayings of scholars in matters of ijtihad (independent reasoning), as preference is relative, and scholars' ijtihad continues to differ without disapproval.
