Does using a CPAP machine, which delivers continuous positive airway pressure and causes dry throat, and is equipped with a humidifier, break the fast in Ramadan?

There has been disagreement among contemporary scholars regarding many modern medical innovations that invalidate the fast. The more prominent view is that many of them do not invalidate the fast, because the default is the validity of the fast until there is evidence to indicate its invalidation. The Islamic Fiqh Academy has stated that oxygen gas and anesthetic gases do not invalidate the fast. The majority of participants in the medical fiqh symposium were of the opinion that eye drops, nasal sprays, and asthma inhalers do not invalidate the fast.

The use of an air pump device (humidifying device) does not invalidate the fast of a fasting person, because the humidification involved relies on the oxygen becoming saturated with water. Thus, what is inhaled is a gas that has no physical substance, and what reaches the stomach is very little and is excused, as is the case with rinsing the mouth and exaggerating in sniffing water into the nose.
