Can a diaper that protects against contamination by impurities be used to cover the awrah for a man during Ihram and for the deceased in his shrouding?

It is not permissible for a pilgrim in a state of ihram to wear a diaper, because it falls under the meaning of sewn garments, which are forbidden. If one wears it without an excuse, he is sinful and obligated to offer a fidyah (expiation). Covering the nakedness is not considered an excuse. As for the deceased, the Sunnah is to shroud him in three white garments, without a shirt or a turban. A diaper should not be placed in his shroud unless there is a need to prevent impurities from exiting him. In such a case, the area should be padded with cotton or clean clay if cotton alone is insufficient.
