Did the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, regularly supplicate during the Friday sermon? And did he allocate the second half of it specifically for supplication? What is the ruling on the Imam dedicating a private place for supplication within Surat Al-An'am at verse 123?

Praying during the second sermon for Muslim men and women is legislated. Some scholars have cited the hadith of Samura ibn Jundub that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, "used to seek forgiveness for believing men and women every Friday."

Some scholars are of the opinion that it is obligatory for the preacher to supplicate for himself and for believing men and women during the sermon, while others view it as recommended but not obligatory.

The Shafi’is hold that supplicating for believers in the second sermon is a pillar because it is appropriate for conclusions.

Some scholars have recommended praying for the righteousness of the Muslim ruler.

There is no evidence from the Qur’an or Sunnah that supplication is answered in the specific place where the Imam made the supplication.
