What is the ruling on dealing with an abusive husband who uses obscene language, curses the Divine Being, beats his wife, reveals the secrets of his home and private life, divorces her verbally multiple times, refuses to have children, prevents her from social interaction, studying, and working, and claims his right to speak with foreign women under the pretext that he likes it?
You must ascertain the number of divorces. If the husband has divorced three or more times, it is not permissible for her to remain with him, as this constitutes an irrevocable divorce (baynunah kubra), from which there is no return unless she marries another man.
If the husband apostatizes from Islam by disbelieving, or by insulting Allah, the Messenger, or the religion, the marriage contract is annulled. If he repents and re-embraces Islam, the contract must be renewed.
The husband must repent to Allah and guard his tongue from insults and curses; for insulting a Muslim is a transgression (fusuq), insulting Allah is major disbelief (kufr akbar), and insulting one's parents is among the grave sins.
It is forbidden for a man to disclose the secrets of the private relationship between him and his wife. Such a person is among those with the worst standing before Allah on the Day of Resurrection.
