The wife has a right upon her husband for intercourse in a way that preserves her chastity and fulfills her needs. The husband must ensure his wife's chastity and observe the etiquette of intercourse, which includes foreplay with the wife before intercourse so that she attains her full pleasure. The husband must not hasten to satisfy his desire before the wife has satisfied hers. If he suffers from premature ejaculation, he should seek a method or medication to delay ejaculation. Spouses should be open and understanding with each other in this matter, and the wife can inform her husband of the method that satisfies her. As for masturbation, it is forbidden (haram), and the prohibition is more severe if the person practicing it is married. The husband's promise to send his wife back to her family if she returns to masturbation does not affect the validity of the marriage, because a promise of divorce is not a divorce.
