The answer

The Hadith regarding the ringing in the ear was narrated by Al-Tabarani from Abdullah ibn Ubaydullah ibn Abi Rafi, from his father, from his grandfather, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "If one of your ears rings, let him remember me and send blessings upon me, and let him say: 'Allah has mentioned with good him who mentioned me.'" Some scholars have deemed its chain of narration to be good (hasan), while others have weakened it, and some have even ruled it to be fabricated. If the Hadith is authentic, it indicates the permissibility of sending blessings upon the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, remembering him, and reciting the mentioned supplication. There is nothing to suggest a distinction between the right and left ear.
