Praise be to Allah, stating a city other than the one where the check was received is considered a lie and not false testimony. The principle in lying is prohibition based on the evidence of the Quran and the Sunnah, but exceptions are made for cases of necessity, achieving a commendable matter, or fulfilling a difficult right. Accordingly, there is no harm in issuing checks mentioning another city if it is a condition for the validity of the record and going to the original city is not feasible. If this is not the case, then it is not permissible.
