What is the ruling on one who teaches the memorization of the Noble Qur’an while he himself has not memorized it?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

Encouraging the teaching of the Quran to those who have memorized any part of it is a practice in emulation of the Companions and in accordance with the Prophet's saying: "Convey from me, even if it is a single verse." It is permissible for anyone who reads the Quran well from the Mus'haf to teach students, provided they are capable of correcting them and seek assistance from Shaykhs and skilled reciters to avoid errors, especially since some letters are written but not pronounced, or are pronounced only when stopping but not when continuing.
