What is the ruling on pharmacists taking for themselves, or for courtesy to others, medications in excess of the official hospital stock, knowing that if this surplus is not taken, it will be hidden to avoid legal accountability?

The surplus medication that must be stored and returned to the responsible authority in the hospital is not permissible for employees to take or dispose of without permission. For what is in their hands of medication is a trust, according to the Almighty's saying: "Indeed, Allah commands you to render trusts to whom they are due" (Quran 4:58), and His saying: "And those who are to their trusts and their promises attentive" (Quran 23:8), and His saying: "O you who have believed, do not betray Allah and the Messenger or betray your trusts while you know [the consequence]" (Quran 8:27), and according to the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "Return the trust to the one who entrusted you, and do not betray the one who betrayed you."
