What is required of a remorseful friend who committed adultery and suffered from infections, in order to expiate his sin? And should he tell his wife what happened, with his fear of possibly contracting AIDS, and what should he do regarding testing?

The friend must perform sincere repentance and conceal himself and the girl with whom he committed the immoral act, while increasing in righteous deeds. There is no objection to getting tested, provided that concealment is maintained. If his good health is confirmed, he should praise Allah. If his infection is confirmed, he should not inform his wife. However, if the virus is active and he fears harm to his young wife, and it is hoped that she will marry after divorce, then it is easier for him to divorce her due to the danger of AIDS. A condom may prevent the transmission of the disease, and doctors should be consulted for confirmation.
