Is it permissible to agree to divorce the wife if she does not find a job after marriage?

This condition is null and void; it is invalid, and according to some scholars, it invalidates the marriage. Abu Hanifa and the more prominent opinion of Al-Shafi'i hold that the marriage is valid, but the condition is void, because the marriage was contracted unconditionally, and the condition does not affect it. However, others believe that this condition prevents the continuation of the marriage, thus resembling temporary marriage (mut'ah).
