As for commercial insurance, which is based on profit, gambling, and uncertainty (gharar), it is not permissible to work in its companies, as this contradicts the Almighty's saying: "And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression." The Sharia-compliant solution is to replace commercial insurance with a cooperative insurance system.
