What can I do to have my supplication answered and my worries relieved, while I am certain that Allah answers supplications, yet I still feel there is an impediment blocking my supplication?

It is recommended to praise Allah for the success in making supplications (du'a) and remembrance (dhikr), and to have a good opinion of Allah and certainty in His response, as the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "I am as My servant thinks of Me; if he thinks good of Me, then it shall be so for him, and if he thinks evil of Me, then it shall be so for him," and he also said: "Supplicate to Allah while being certain of a response." Allah's response to supplications is affirmed by His saying: "Call upon Me; I will respond to you." However, the response might be by granting the supplicant what he desires, or by averting an affliction from him, or by saving it for him in the Hereafter; for Allah knows best the interests of His servants. One should also strive to obey Allah and fear Him, and to make frequent supplications.
