Is it obligatory to pray Dhuhr and Asr combined in advance at home, or to perform tayammum and pray at the university mosque, knowing that the questioner suffers from an illness that prevents her from maintaining wudu for long, and there is no clean place for wudu at the university, and her illness makes her clothes unclean?

If the sister asking the question leaves home after Dhuhr time begins, and she frequently experiences incontinence (sals), then it is permissible for her to combine the two prayers (Dhuhr and Asr) by performing them at the time of the first (jam' taqdim), and a single ablution (wudu) is sufficient for the combination. However, if she leaves before Dhuhr time begins, then she is not permitted to combine, and she must perform ablution at the university. She is permitted to combine prayers due to incontinence.

The absence of a clean place for ablution does not permit tayammum (dry ablution); rather, she should perform ablution in any available place. If she is unable to perform ablution under any circumstances, then she may perform tayammum. Prayer is not permissible in ritually impure clothes; rather, they must be washed or changed.

The Malikis held the view that if incontinence (sals) is constant for most of the time, it does not nullify ablution. Therefore, it is not obligatory to perform ablution for every prayer unless another nullifier occurs. It is also not obligatory to tie the affected area with a cloth or to wash the constantly present impurity daily, as a facilitation and to remove hardship.
