What is the ruling on a married woman going out to visit relatives, friends, and acquaintances?

There is no harm in a woman going out to visit relatives, friends, or acquaintances if the visit adheres to the Shariah guidelines. These include her commitment to the Shariah hijab (one that is not adorned, is thick, loose, unperfumed, and does not resemble the clothing of men, disbelievers, or clothes of fame). Also, those being visited should not be individuals whose company is feared to negatively impact one's religion or honor. Furthermore, the visit should not involve mixing with non-mahram men, and it should be with the husband's permission (except for visiting parents, on which there is a difference of opinion). Her going out should also not lead to the neglect of the rights of the home, husband, or children.
