What is the authenticity of describing the Prophet as "the Tihami Prophet" and "Taha al-Yamani"? And does Mecca geographically belong to Yemen, based on the interpretation of the Hadith "Faith is Yamani" to mean that Mecca is in Tihamah, which is part of the land of Yemen?

Tihamah is a land bordering the sea, and Makkah is part of it. It was named so due to its intense heat and stagnant winds. It is correct to describe the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, as Tihami and Yamani.

As for the Hadith: "Faith is Yamani," there is a difference of opinion regarding its meaning. Some say it refers to Makkah because it is part of Tihamah, which is part of Yemen. Others say it refers to Makkah and Madinah because they were in the direction of Yemen. Still others say it refers to the Ansar because they were originally from Yemen.

The most probable opinion is that it literally refers to the people of Yemen, because they were characterized by perfect faith. This does not contradict the existence of faith in others. It is an indication of their distinctiveness and the perfection of their state in faith during the time of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him.

Al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar said: "'Faith is Yamani' includes those who are attributed to Yemen by residence or tribe, but residence is more apparent. Most residents of Yemen have soft hearts and bodies, while most residents of the north have hard hearts and bodies."
