Does a husband incur a sin by preventing his wife from observing her 'iddah (waiting period) in her home after divorcing her with a single, irrevocable divorce and refusing to reconcile with her, and what are the implications for the wife if she resorts to the court?

It is not permissible for the husband to expel his revocably divorced wife from the marital home before the waiting period (iddah) ends, as Allah Almighty says: "Do not expel them from their homes, nor should they leave." If your husband prevents you from observing the waiting period in the home, and it is a revocable divorce, then he is sinful. If the waiting period ends, the divorce becomes an irrevocable minor divorce, and a new contract is required for him to take you back. If he does not desire you, Allah may facilitate someone better for you. Going to court regarding reconciliation will not benefit you, but you have the right to demand your financial rights, such as deferred dower, maintenance, and housing. The husband is not obliged to inform you of the reason for the divorce.
