Did the Prophet Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace, suffer a defeat in the the Battle of Uhud?

It is well-known that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was accompanied by some of his companions in the Battle of Uhud after the archers abandoned their positions, and only twelve men remained with him. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was never defeated and was known for his courage and steadfastness in times of hardship. Furthermore, Allah Almighty forgave and pardoned the Companions who retreated on the Day of Uhud.
