Reprehensible haste is rushing something before its time, like rushing fruit before it ripens. Jurists have expressed this with the rule: "Whoever rushes something before its time is punished by being deprived of it." As for the Muslim, what is required of him is to perfect the work regardless of its speed. Haste is not blameworthy if the work is perfected; rather, it is praiseworthy if what was commanded is not lost, as Allah Almighty says: "And they hasten to good deeds."
