You are not religiously permitted to inherit the house or any other assets left by the man who adopted you, because Allah Almighty has specified those entitled to inheritance, and whoever takes from those who are not heirs has taken the right of another. You must hand over the house to its rightful owners. If they agree to your living in it, then good; otherwise, you must leave and seek shelter elsewhere. The brothers of the house's owner are the legal heirs to what remains after the wife's share, if there are no closer relatives. You should correct your name in official documents to match reality if possible; otherwise, it is sufficient to change it in your dealings with people. There is no blame on you for what the wife's family says about deception, and there is no blame on your adoptive mother for concealing the truth if they did not ask about it. This matter does not affect the validity of the marriage, unless it is proven that the woman was deceived by your lineage and your situation was contrary to suitability, in which case she has the option to annul the marriage. As for those who adopted you, they erred by denying the truth, but they deserve gratitude, mercy, and prayers, and you must maintain ties with your adoptive mother as long as she lives.
