What is the ruling on transplanting testicles from a deceased person to solve the problem of infertility?

The Council of the Islamic Fiqh Academy answered this question as follows:

1. Transplanting reproductive glands (testicles and ovaries): This is Islamically forbidden because they continue to carry and transmit the genetic characteristics of the donor.

2. Transplanting other organs of the reproductive system (that do not transmit genetic characteristics): This is permissible for a legitimate necessity, according to Islamic rules and standards, with the exception of the severe 'awrah (parts of the body that must be covered).
