The father's wife is permanently forbidden to the son [for marriage]. He must maintain ties with her and treat her kindly even after the father's death. As for her maintenance and the maintenance of her servant, it becomes obligatory upon the son if the father is unable to provide it, and this is during the father's lifetime. If the father's wife fights against the Sunnah and the religious people, then she must be advised and invited [to righteousness], and ties with her should be maintained without engaging with her in those matters. The husband of the father's wife's daughter is not a mahram to the father's daughter, and he is permitted to marry her.
