What is the ruling on resorting to soothsayers and fortune-tellers to ascertain a husband's behavior, and is it permissible to believe their statements in the face of his denial and his swearing by the Quran?
You must repent to Allah for going to soothsayers and diviners, as this is a grave evil with which prayers for forty days are not accepted. And whoever believes a soothsayer has disbelieved in what was revealed to Muhammad, may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him. Repentance is achieved by abandoning the sin, regretting it, and resolving not to return to it. Do not believe charlatans, and have a good opinion of your husband and live with him amicably. Be keen on being a good wife to him, beautifying yourself, and showing affection. Cooperate in obeying Allah and adhering to the Sharia, and abandon doubts and delusions based on divination and soothsaying.
