What is the ruling on shaving a newborn's hair, and is the Sunnah of shaving only for a baby boy and not for a baby girl?

Shaving the newborn's hair is a confirmed Sunnah, whether the child is male or female, and is not obligatory. It is recommended to give charity to the poor with silver equal to the weight of the hair. It is permissible to appraise the silver and donate its value. If the shaving is missed on the seventh day, it can be done on the fourteenth day, or the twenty-first day, or thereafter.
