What are the pieces of advice for dealing with escalating disputes and problems between the wife's family and the husband's family, and is disobedience to parents in this matter considered an act of 'Uquq (disobedience/disrespect)?

We advise you to strive for reconciliation between your family and your wife's family, to bring hearts together, and to avoid whatever stirs up animosity, using wisdom and tact. In the interest of reconciliation, you are permitted to tell each party words that bring affection, even if they are not entirely true, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "He is not a liar who reconciles between people, saying good things and conveying good things." Obedience to parents is obligatory in what is good and permissible. However, there is no obedience to them if they command something that contradicts Islamic law or leads to harm, but it is always obligatory to accompany them with kindness.
